Juniper Green is zestful and full flavoured. It has excellent aromas and is silky smooth. The unique blend of botanicals is key including: Juniper, Coriander, Summer Savory and Angelica. UK5 is a very smooth vodka with no burn at the back of throat, especially when enjoyed neat. Because of the superior organic ingredients, this wheat-based Vodka doesn't need the carbon filtering or additions of glycerol to create an impression of smoothness, like many conventional brands. So it is actually poured into the glass just as it came from the still.
This gold medal spirit is excellent neat, over ice, or in a cocktail with organic cranberry juice.
Unique to the Papagayo White and Spiced Rums from South America is the organic sugarcane sourced from the one estate, and the traditional distilling technique.
The sugarcane is grown in a remote area of Paraguay, started by Eduardo Filippo in 1993 who began an organic farming project to help lowly paid sugarcane farmers.
The scheme is flourishing and today more than 800 families benefit from the better organic sugarcane prices. They also benefit from learning more about production, harvesting and transportation, and receive some funding from the International Fair Trade Association. A further benefit is positive change to the environment due to organic farming methods.
The process involves the organic sugarcane being crushed and the syrup extracted for fermentation. The pure fermented syrup is then distilled in traditional stills into rum. The rum is then filtered and placed into special aging barrels where its distinctive organic flavour is perfected. When ready for drinking, this fine liquor begins its long journey, first by carts to a river port and then abroad to markets around the world.
Papagayo Dark Spiced Rum is spiced with natural organic spices from the Tropics - vanilla, ginger, and even a hint of chilli.
Only organic malted barley is used to make the malts of Highland Harvest Organic Scotch Whiskey. Firstly, the milled barley is fermented and then distilled in traditional pot stills. The spirit is then matured in oak casks developing both depth and the authentic smooth palate of fine Scotch Whiskey. When matured it is blended with aged grain organic whiskey to create the unique Highland Harvest taste. All this happens in Scotland, home of true scotch.
